Shell Gallery
The Albert and Ann Becker Shell Collection
This private shell collection is the largest in Southeast Florida, having nearly 10,000 “museum quality” shells. These beautiful shells were collected over a forty-year period by a husband-and-wife team, Albert and Ann Becker. In 2002 the entire world class collection was donated to Sandoway Discovery Center from the Linda Becker Dean Family. After Linda’s inheritance of the collection from her aunt and uncle, the family wanted to find the right home for the precious shells. After much research and planning, they chose Sandoway Discovery Center to preserve the collection in its entirety.
